ALICE, An Operatic Wonderland, is a fresh and relevant re- imagination of Lewis Carroll’s beloved book, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. In this full-length family opera, Alice’s journey down the rabbit hole is a journey of self-realization that in a world of constant judgment, ridicule, and uncertainty, she is “enough.”
With its orchestral world premiere, this nonsensical, heartwarming, coming-of-age, operatic adventure invites audiences into a wildly imaginative world of self-discovery. Composer Amy Scurria brilliantly weaves a wonderland of musical genres to take audiences on a dramatic journey of discovery.
